BROWNSVILLE / SOUTH PADRE ISLAND INT'L AIRPORT (BRO)
Rio Gulf Coast Express connects the airport to downtown Brownsville, the Port of
Brownsville, Laguna Heights, and Port Isabel. The service operates from 6:15am
until 6:35pm everyday EXCEPT Sunday. Buses operate 30 to 45 minutes apart, and
be sure to get on the bus going in the direction you need to go. Pick up the bus in
the front of the airport near the taxi stand. Fare is $2.00.
To get to South Padre Island, take the Rio Gulf Coast Express bus going to Port
Isabel. At Las Palmas Plaza in Port Isabel, connect to The Wave, a free shuttle
service that runs along the beach, stopping at hotels and attractions. The Wave
operates from 7:00am to 7:00pm every day of the week, and leaves from Las Palmas
Plaza at :21 and :51 minutes past the hour.
