BOB HOPE AIRPORT - BURBANK, CALIFORNIA (BUR) The Ventura County Line of Metrolink, Southern California's commuter train service, has a station near the airport. The schedule varies throughout the day, with trains running between 15 minutes and two hours apart. Once on the train, you are about 25 minutes from downtown Los Angeles. Check the web site www.metrolinktrains.com for current schedules and destinations. Phone number is 800-371-5465. To get to the train station, you could either walk or take the Lot D shuttle, and ask the driver to drop you off at the station. There is a courtesy phone at the train station to call the shuttle when you return to the airport. The Burbank Bus also operates the Airport/Empire to Downtown route. Buses run Monday through Friday from 5:35am to 10:00am, and from 2:30pm to 7:30pm. No weekend service. Take this bus for downtown Burbank. Fare is $1.00, or free if you have a Metrolink or MTA pass. This bus will not get you to Burbank, but will get you to the Metro Red Line and Noho. The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) also serves the airport on Route 165. This route runs east to west along Vanowen Street. The bus operates from about 5:30am until 9:00pm, with 20 to 40 minute intervals during the week, and less frequently on weekends.
