FAIRBANKS INT'L AIRPORT (FAI) The Metropolitan Area Commuter System (MACS) serves the airport on the Yellow bus line, which operates between the airport and the downtown transit center. From there, you can easily walk anywhere downtown. The bus runs only six times a day during the week, at 7:43am, 9:28am, 11:07am, 3:28pm, 5:13pm, and 6:33pm, and three times on Saturdays, at noon, 3:15pm, and 5:05pm. No Sunday service. The ride takes about 25 minutes. On your return, make sure you get on the yellow bus headed toward the airport, as it goes in another direction as well. Fare is 50 cents, or get an all-day pass for 75 cents from the driver.
