Buses serving both the French and the Dutch
side of the island are privately owned, and can
be picked up on the highway just outside of the
international arrivals terminal. Buses run from
about 7:00am until 5:00pm daily. To get to Cole
Bay or Philipsburg, stand on the same side of
the road as the terminal and look for the sign in
the front of the bus (they look like minivans)
showing their final destination. To get to Cole
Bay, the fare is US$1.50, to Philipsburg its
US$2.00. On the other side of the road, buses go to Marigot and Grand Case.
Fares to those places are US$2.00. Get more information at the information desk in
the international arrivals terminal. Maho Bay Beach is about a half mile away, and
can be walked to, but I would not recommend walking with luggage as the road is
